Women's Box
Team One
In 2024, the U.S. women's box team made history as Team One captured the inaugural World Lacrosse Women's Box Championship. This team of pioneers embraced an 18-month process learning a new discipline of the sport and set the standard.
<p>Most of the team had little to no box experience when the process started, but they embraced the challenge. The team trained multiple times and many players joined adult men's leagues to get more experience. They went into the world championship as underdogs. They emerged as champions — highlighted by a gutsy second-half comeback to beat Canada in the inaugural World Lacrosse Women's Championship.</p>

Ingrid Boyum
<p>Ingrid Boyum epitomized the story of Team One, the first women's box lacrosse team in U.S. national team history. A former star at Navy, Boyum had spent most of her post-graduation time serving as an officer in the U.S. Navy. Her love of lacrosse never waned. She jumped at the chance to be a pioneer and the rest was history as she led the U.S. to a historic championship.</p>
