The U.S. women's program made its sixes debut hosting the World Lacrosse Super Sixes event at USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md. The U.S. went 3-1 in the round-robin event, splitting games with Canada while sweeping the Haudenosaunee Nationals.

In 2022, the U.S. played in its first championship event, competing at The World Games in Birmingham, Alabama. Coming on the heels of the World Lacrosse field championship, the U.S. split its rosters and sent a younger team to the World Games. The squad competed well, rolling through four games before falling to Canada 14-12 in a tight gold medal game.

The U.S. got a measure of revenge in 2023, as head coach Crysti Foote and team overcame a pool play loss to Canada and beating the host Canadians 8-7 in the championship game of the World Lacrosse Super Sixes in Oshawa, Canada. Taylor Moreno had a masterful performance in goal, including making two game-saving stops in the final 40 seconds.

Lindsay Munday made her debut as the U.S. sixes head coach ahead of the USA Lacrosse Experience in Indianapolis in the fall of 2024. She led the U.S. to convincing wins over Colombia, Great Britain and Puerto Rico.

The U.S. swept through both of its competitions in 2025, reclaiming The World Games championship with a 16-8 victory over Canada in the gold medal game in Chengdu, China. Later on, the U.S. won the inaugural Atlas Cup, once again beating Canada in the final.
