11-time world champions
The most accomplished international lacrosse program made it two championships in a row with a 10-7 victory over Canada on July 1, 2023 in San Diego. Brennan O'Neill, the youngest player on the U.S. roster, scored five goals in the championship game win.
<p>The 2023 championship was a record 11th for the U.S. team program since the inaugural championship in 1967. Duke head coach John Danowski became the first U.S. coach to win two world championships. Seth Tierney, an assistant coach for the 2018 and 2023 world championships, is now the head coach and gearing up for the 2027 World Lacrosse Men's Championship in Tokyo.</p>
